April Visiting Artist

This month we're looking forward to spending some quality time with Derek "DWreck" White. DWreck will be teaching a 3-day sandblasting class and answering any questions while showing off some work at Art Night (April 25th). We can't wait!

The Print Shop

Just an update on our newest, soon to be rentable, space, the print shop! Now that we have a spacious and organized room, classes, renting time, and out of shop services will be available to you in less than two months. We're very excited to offer this space to everyone and anyone who is interested, we're here to answer your questions and get you started on your silkscreening journey!

National Pi Day

Just a hungry, but friendly reminder that this Saturday, March 14th, is National Pi Day! Support local by consuming discounted or home delivered pie. Listed below are some of the few places supporting the love of pie, enjoy!

Information from KOMO News and CBS Seattle

High 5 Pie. High 5 will be offering ANY of their flipsides for only $3.14! Flipsides are turnovers, fruit or savory filled. Pie on-the-go! Yum.

1400 12th Avenue
Seattle, WA 98122
Neighborhood: Capitol Hill

Yippie-Pie-Yay. What sounds better than a fresh pie delivered to your front door? I can’t think of many things and Yippie-Pie-Yay will do just that. They’re gearing up for Pi Day with both hand pies and whole pies. Try the Strawberry-Rhubarb or Pecan-Bourbon. (They do need 24 hour notice for orders. You can also pick them up if you'd like.)

  • Delivery is $5 to the following neighborhoods: Fremont, Ballard, Magnolia, Queen Anne, University District, Wallingford, Phinney Ridge, Greenwood, Greenlake, and Capitol Hill.
  • Delivery is $10 to Downtown Seattle.
  • Delivery outside of listed areas is subject to additional charges.

Pie Bar. The menu at this new Capitol Hill bakery is always changing, so it’s best to check out their Facebook page before heading in. They always serve both savory and sweet pies and my favorites are Chicken Pie for dinner and the Apple Crumble for dessert. The apple is made with Granny Smith apples, cinnamon, molasses and the best streusel in Seattle. Bonus: They also serve booze.
1361 E Olive Way
Seattle, WA 98122
Neighborhood: Capitol Hill
Borracchini’s Bakery. If you love Lemon Meringue Pie, this is definitely the spot for you! The Lemon Meringue Pie is light and fluffy and not too sweet or tart. Borracchini’s Bakery has been around since 1922 and is Seattle’s historic Italian bakery. Families have been buying birthday cakes, pies, and other delightful desserts for decades, so you should definitely check it out if you’ve never stopped by.
2307 Rainier Ave S
Seattle, WA 98144
Neighborhood: Beacon Hill

Pie. This Fremont bakery has a small name and lots of small, individual pies. (I think that’s permission to try several! Right?) Pie is simply thrilled about Pi Day and they’re celebrating with the following flavors:
Savories: English Meat, Chicken Pot Pie, Broccoli Cheddar, Spicy Veggie, Corned Beef w/Cauliflower, Mac + Cheese w/Peas, Gluten Free Broccoli Cheddar
Sweets: Berry Awesome, Peach, Salted Caramel Apple, Blueberry, Mango Blueberry, Gluten Free Peach, Key Lime, Pumpkin, Peanut Butter Cream, Thin Mint Cream, Nutella Cream

7 Point Studios Owner, Nate Dizzle, featured in Northwest Leaf Magazine's Glass Issue.

Happy April Everyone! While you are all getting ready for everyone's favorite holiday (not Easter), enjoy a look at some amazing functional glass art made right here in the Pacific Northwest and featured in this month's Northwest Leaf, their Glass Issue. Sixteen sweet pages of some of the greatest functional glass art from some of the region's most talented glass artists.

And 7 Point Studios owner, Nathan Aweida is prominently featured in the issue. His stunning SwissGuitar made the cover! Huge applause to Nate and woodworker Josh Bohn on their creation. And a big thank you to Wes and Daniel with Northwest Leaf for an incredible photo shoot at 7 Point Studios. We've even included some behind the scenes iPhone pics of the photo shoot for your viewing pleasure.

The Boro School to open in January 2014!

Hello to all our friends out there! We thought you might like the scoop on exactly what is happening with the newest part of 7 Point Studios. The Boro School, Seattle's newest glass-blowing school and facility is set to open mid January 2014 - just around the corner. We'll be putting out details regarding the Jan. 18th Open House very soon.

We've been getting everything ready for our Glassroom (that's classroom for glass), purchasing tools & supplies (did you see all the pretty torches?), getting wholesale accounts set up, and purchasing some pretty slick software to help manage our classes and our lives. We couldn't be more excited for the things in store for The Boro School and all of you current or soon-to-be glassblowers! Visit the website www.theboroschool.com to get all the information you need on the classes we will be offering. We expect to start registration on January 11th and will initially be offering mostly Introductory and Beginners classes. We'll keep you posted!
